Knowing God is leading is all you need!

As a young christian girl and lady, I desired to marry as a virgin; to have a relationship with only one man that will lead to marriage. And a successful marriage too. My routine prayer to God was very simple but very 'dangerous', too risky for most 21st century believers.

I prayed thus: "Father, please give me a man after your heart. I don't care who he is, how he looks, what he has, where he is coming from - as long as he is your perfect will for my life".

When he proposed in April 2004, I knew! I was nervous. I kept pondering and saying to myself "Lord is this him?"

With time, I was convinced and I accepted the proposal after 8 months of being physically away in my graduate university, studying, praying and seeking God's face concerning this matter. We sought godly counsel too from our various disciplers and underwent church marital counseling procedures.

I had no reason to worry or fear. My major concern was to be maximally sure Komlan Agbedahin was God's perfect will for me and God was leading me to marry him.

Indeed, I did not need to know where I was going, as long as I was sure God was leading me!

It has been 14 years since the courtship of three years started, and 11 years of marriage in September 22, 2018! All glory to God alone!!!!!

Key issues:

Was ensuring that the traditional wedding and holy matrimony were done in God's way (against all odds for a binational marriage) a good idea? Oh absolutely yes!!!!

Has making the marriage 'work' been an easy and all romantic sweet bed of roses? Oh absolutely no!!!!!

Has it been profitable trusting God for His perfect will in the first place and thereafter abiding by God's precepts in marriage? Oh absolutely absolutely yes yes yes yes !!!!!
